Ten Great Walls

On February 13, 2005, The Hartford Courant will publish a cover story for its literary supplement Northeast Magazine about the new book Exploring Stone Walls. As part of that story there will be a sidebar with a short list of TEN GREAT WALLS, selected by the editor from my larger list of 45 tourist and noteworthy walls. Volcanic Wall: Farmington, CT

Important Wall: Concord, Massachusetts

Tall Wall : Cliff Walk at Newport

Bouldery Wall : Center Harbor, New Hampshire

Out of Place Wall : Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.

Granite stones : Stonington, CT

Humbled Wall : Harbor, Maine.

Place with common walls: Tiverton-Sakonnet Point, RI.
