To inspire lifelong learning is a goal of every educator, including those at the SWI. Stone walls provide a wonderful opportunity to engage geology, culture, and biology.

PUBLIC LECTURES

Professor Thorson gave sixty seven presentations during the academic year 2004-2005, probably in a town near you. Though the pace will be slower in the future, keep your eye on the Event Calendar.

STONE WALL WORKSHOPS

The SWI is in the process of developing workshops and guided field trips of stone walls. Refer to Programs. Eventually, we will have a one-day presentation on stone wall heritage followed by stone wall building.

GENERAL READING

Stone by Stone has been used in

• Book Group Discussions
• As background for workshops on building stone walls
• As an authoritative source for legal hearings and depositions regarding stone wall.

Exploring Stone Walls is used

• principally as a guidebook for an adult hobby
• serves as the basis for outdoor guiding workshops.
